Figures from the new Vintage ‘Book of Boba Fett’ collection revealed

On Tuesday, StarWars.com continued its Bring home the bounty campaign with a pair of Vintage Collection toys for Boba Fett’s Book. Both will be available for pre-order Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. EST.

If you prefer super-poseable 3.75″ scale action figures (like me), then you’ll love these. Besides not being exclusive to a single retailer, these are beautiful plastic recreations of two awesome characters. Unfortunately, one of them has a price which is a load of poodoo.

We’ll get to that issue in a moment. Let’s stay positive for a moment and kick things off with tough guy Boba.

Fennec Shand finally gets its long-awaited entry into the Vintage collection. The face portrait is good, the sculpt is great, and the accessories are cool (especially the removable helmet). The soft items will also allow him to easily get into dynamic sniper poses.

This fantastic toy is expected to hit shelves in the fall of 2022 and retails for the reasonable price of $13.99.

First of all, it’s a beautiful figure. In addition to the large facial portrait and the sculpt, Boba Fett comes with lots of accessories.

But do these accessories justify that figure for almost double ($26.49) what Fennec Shand does?

Even last week’s Vintage Collection “deluxe” packs are only $20.00. The Maldo Kries Set Also costs $26.49, but at least you have Ice Spiders and Grogu with Din Djarin.

Maybe the extra is just Hasbro taking advantage of a popular character and charging us the Boba Fett tax. Or maybe we’re footing the bill for all the tooling costs and profits they lost from Rancor HasLab’s failed campaign.

All that being said… my goodness, does this figure look great.

I’ll upgrade you for a while. Despite all my taunts at Hasbro ripping us off with “luxury” numbers that shouldn’t carry a higher price tag, I totally gave in on the Boba Fett Black Series. I tried to justify the purchase by denying myself Black Series Bib Fortunabut in the end, it’s just that I really wanted to.

With this number, the last thing I want to do is encourage/confirm Hasbro that they can continue to stretch prices beyond the rate of inflation. But I also love this character, especially this version of him.

I guess like many of you, I will have a decision to make tomorrow at 1:00 PM EST. The set should hit toy shelves in the summer of 2022 if you want to delay your gratification a bit.
